Music

Music

Music is the tool through which our choirs and musicians reach into our hearts and convey the true presence of Jesus Christ during our worship experience. Music proclaims the Good News of Jesus Christ as it inspires and encourages us, as it soothes the heart, and as it lifts praises to our God.

Musical variety is as important as the music itself. God created His people with differing tastes, so we aim to provide a variety of types and styles of music to enrich worship at Saint Luke.

If God has blessed you with musical talents and abilities, we encourage you to use those gifts to enhance our worship! For more information on how to become a part of the music ministry at Saint Luke, please click here to contact our Director of Church Music.

Joyful Spirit

The Joyful Spirit Choir sings regularly at the 8:00 am traditional service the second and fourth Sundays of the month and special services throughout the liturgical year. The choir is open to all people of high school age and older. The choir rehearses Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm.

Worship Team

The worship team provides music for the 10:30 am contemporary service on Sundays and is comprised of singers and instrumentalists of high school age and up. An audition is required for this ministry. The group rehearses on Tuesdays at 6:00 pm.

Alleluia Ringers

We are blessed at Saint Luke to have a full, five octave set of handbells and chimes. The handbell choir adds another dimension to the sound of majesty during worship. This ensemble meets on Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm and plays at the 8:00 am service about twice per month. Experience and note reading ability are helpful but not completely necessary.

Special Event Choir

For special occasions such as Christmas Morning or Easter Sunday, a small group is needed. This is great if you like to sing or play an instrument, but cannot make a weekly commitment in the ministry. This ensemble rehearses on an as needed basis.

Instrumentalist

Instruments are frequently used at Saint Luke to enhance our worship services. If you can play an instrument and have at least two years of experience, you are invited to be a part of this ministry.

Youth Worship Team

The Youth worship team provides music on an occasional basis and is comprised of high school age singers and instrumentalists. This group meets in conjunction with our youth group.
