PTL Forks for Funds at U Gazdy is held every Monday during lunch and dinner hours from September 2024 - May 2025 (*excludes December). You can order take out for lunch at school! They have great chicken tenders! Enjoy a delicious meal at the restaurant or at home while supporting our school. Pictorial Directory - Picture Take
Saint Luke is currently working on a new pictorial directory! IT WON'T BE COMPLETE WITHOUT YOU! We are inviting everyone to get a new picture made so that our new directory includes every person and family. The directory can also help us remember names know each other better.
No appointment necessary. Just stop in the gym before or after services. This is not a professional photography sales program; it will be produced totally in house.
Photo Dates:
Saturdays October 5th and 12th from 4:40 - 7:00 pm.
Sundays September 15th, 22nd, October 6th and 13th from 8:30am-12:30 pm.
We are also looking for volunteers to assist with registration, photography and post-production. If you would like to assist in any of these areas please contact Terry Wilhelms, any elder, or the church office.

Red Letter Challenge Bible Study
Beginning Sunday, September 15, we begin the Red Letter Challenge at Saint Luke. The Red Letter Challenge is a 40-day encounter with the words and teachings of Jesus. As you probably know, in some Bibles the words of Jesus are printed in red. That’s why this is called the Red Letter Challenge. We’re looking at what Jesus actually said and seeing what it means to put His teachings into practice. Throughout these 40 days we’ll be challenged to grow more and more like Jesus.
New Members Class
Sundays | 9:15 - 10:15 am
Saint Luke is starting our fall 2024 New Member Class on Sunday, September 15th at 9:15 am. This class will be meeting weekly for 10 weeks. Childcare can be provided if that would make it possible for you to attend. Women's Monday Night Bible Study
The Monday Night Small Group is doing the Red Letter Challenge, by Zach Zehnder. All members of St. Luke are encouraged to join one of the ongoing Bible classes or look for an additional class being offered during this challenge. Anyone is welcome to come to the Monday Night Small Group for this study. Feel free to bring a friend. You do not have to have purchased the book. Come see what it’s all about and then decide whether you’d also like to buy the book. We meet every Monday from 6:30 -8:00 pm in room 105.

Fall After School Chess Club
Kindergarten - 8th Grade. Each class will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Glow Run Fundraiser
Saint Luke School’s first annual Glow Run will take place on Friday, September 27 at 6 pm! This exciting fundraiser is going to include music, glow sticks, black lights, luminous obstacle courses, and all things NEON! Proceeds will benefit our Class Specials (Spanish, Art, STEAM, & Music) which foster creativity, critical thinking, and a well rounded education for our students.
Family Church Service
Join us for another one of St. Luke’s Family Chapel services on Saturday, September 28, at 5:30 pm. This is the first of four Family Chapels we will have during the school year. Each of these chapels is conducted in a way similar to our Wednesday school chapel services. The songs which are sung are ones that the kids are familiar with in school, VBS, or Sunday school. The message will be presented along the same lines as messages are presented during chapel.
After the Family Chapel, refreshments will be served and crafts will be made available – either to work on right away or to take home.
You’re invited to join us for the Family Chapel. Make sure you come with your kids. And make sure you invite others to join us for this unique way of worshiping God!
Friendship Sunday
September 29 is Friendship Sunday, an opportunity to invite friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to worship with us that day. Statistics show that the number one reason people visit a church is because someone they knew invited them. Someone cared enough to ask them to check out their congregation. You can be that ‘someone’ by extending an invitation to those you know to worship with us that day.
Invite your friends to St. Luke on September 29th. Let’s celebrate their friendship with you and the friendship that God wants to have with them, too.

ENDURE: National Youth Gathering
July 18-24, 2025 | New Orleans, Lousiana
Held every 3 years since 1980, the LCMS Youth Gathering provides thousands of youth and adults the opportunity to come together as a community of God’s people to be encouraged in their walk with Jesus Christ and learn about the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity. We encourage students to prayerfully consider taking this journey with our St. Luke Youth Ministry in Summer 2025. This year-long process will also help inspire youth in their daily faith walk as we prepare for this great adventure! Please learn more about 2025 LCMS NYG here. LET’S RALLY TOGETHER! You're invited to come join us for outdoor worship, food, fellowship and games at our Rally Day. Come and learn about our fall ministry programing. There is something for everyone including Sunday school, outreach, bingo, worship ministries, and small groups.
Third Grade Gifting of the Bibles (during outdoor service)
At our Rally Day church service on Sunday, September 8th at 10:30 am we would like to present all the 3rd Graders of our church & school with a Bible. As part of the celebration of the gift of God’s Word we will invite the 3rd Graders to come forward during the service to make this presentation. We hope that you can make it for that service; If you cannot, Saint Luke school children can get their Bibles in their classroom. If your child comes to Sunday School, it will given there. Otherwise, feel free to contact the church office so arrangements can be made to gift the Bible to your child.

Blessing of the Backpacks
Students of all ages, faculty and supportive staff are invited to bring their backpacks, tote bags, or briefcases to the 10:30 am worship service on Sunday, August 11th for a special blessing to begin the new school year surrounded in prayer.

School Supply Drive
Saint Luke is doing a School Supply Drive July 24th - August 10th. If you have the availability while you’re out school shopping, please grab any extra supplies you would like to donate. Backpacks can be gently used. There will be bins at the food truck fest to allow familes to take items that day if needed. If you know of any families in need or you would like to reach out to us personally regarding what your child needs please email saintlukeptl@gmail.com.
Any extra items left over after the food truck fest will be assembled and given to those in need the following week. Please drop off your donations at the main office between July 24th and August 10th.
Suggested Donations Include:
Pencils, Crayons, Markers, Paper, Glue, Notebooks, Folders, and New or Gently Used Backpacks.

Influencer: Youth Mission Trip

God has called us to make a difference in the world. Serve those in need He says. We are going to do that again this summer in Nashville, TN. We'll stay onsite and help greatly in the Nashville area through serving with inner city students, aging adults, and children with disabilities through the organization called Group Mission Trips. Free Classical Music & Ukrainian Music Recital
A Free Piano Recital will be held Saturday, June 22, at 7:30 pm here at St. Luke. Enjoy an uplifting evening of beautiful classical music and Ukrainian melodies performed by the talented Mykhailenko brothers.
Musicians Myroslav and Nazarii Mykhailenko will be playing music by classical and ukrainian composers. Free will offering will be accepted.

8th Grade Graduation Service
The congregation and all the school families are invited to be part of our graduation service and reception on Wednesday, May 29 at 7:00pm. Graduation is a celebration of achievement for our 8th graders and it is also a celebration of our church’s school ministry. Our students not only graduate with a strong academic foundation for high school, but also a firm foundation in their faith in Jesus Christ, as their Savior. This “foundation for life” that has been built in our students, has been accomplished with the support of the whole congregation and school, so we invite all of you to join us in celebrating God’s work in our school, which has been carried on for the past 138yrs.
